About Me

My photo
Dakota Data Wrangler
SQL Server DBA, SciFi Fan, History buff, OIF Veteran, Amateur Radio Operator (Ham) call sign KA0SQL, but most importantly husband and father.

My first experiences with computers were back in high school in the mid-1980s writing BASIC on Commodore computers. Since then I have worn many varied hats: high school shop/computer teacher, National Guard officer, graduate student/teaching assistant and now Data Base Administrator for an international corporation where I get to work on SQL Server instances on three continents.

This blog is written from the perspective of a working DBA. I have learned many lessons over the years by lots of research and testing as well as breaking things then having to figure out how to fix them myself. I am hoping that my posts here will have some value to new DBAs as well as more veteran DBAs that are running into the same issues I have had to deal with in the past.

Thanks for visiting, stop back again soon.
